The damage looks like something cleaved her face at a fast speed, likely an axe.
The damage 'type' between the hair and the face didn't match. Notice the strange scarring around the 'hole' on the left side of her jaw? It is more likely that this wound is caused by a projectile that has sharp edges on both side as stabilizing fins.
