Call me crazy, but isnt the "Epic Commentary" the same exact thing as the "Comment Win" pool? It seems its just a name change. I already see a few images that were in the "Comment Win" pool before it bit the dust.

Probably and it's just going to keep coming back because it's a valid pool idea, allot better then 99% of them frankly. I really don't see the beef myself some images are really only worth looking at because of comments. Yeah it's subjective, but so are a ton of other pools (nightmare fuel, depressing, disgusting adorable, etc)
If we're going to be so hardcore about "comments distracting from the images" why even allow comments to begin with?

Well, it seems to have been deemed too subjective again. They discussed it in the "Pointless Pools" thread. They said it's not entirely pointless, but with Sturgeon's Law in full effect on commentary here, people would just shove crap into the pool because someone made a witty turn of phrase, and moderating it would be too much work for the mods.
I still think it's a damn sight better than some of the "unique" pools that pop up, but they need extra staff to keep up with it.
