I had to actually sit my mother down and tell her very seriously “Mom, if your friends bring kids over, they are NOT to touch these. These are not toys, they are not designed to be moved around all that much. If they get played with, they *will* break into small pieces. Children are not allowed anywhere near them. These all took time and effort to build, customize, and paint, and I worked very hard on them. If I come home to them being broken, I will be very angry with you, and I will never speak with you again. Are we clear?” Anything short of that she would have brushed it off as me exaggerating or not wanting to share
