Kotone's pretty screwed, I'd say. Looks like Typhlosion's thinking, "Time for a tactical retreat!" while Kotone still thinks she can fight.

And that's why Typhlosion is badass. He's manly enough to admit that she's lost, and he needs to get Kotone out of there before she gets injured. I really love that relationship, actually. The kind of relationship where the Pokemon is more mature than the trainer, but the Pokemon trusts and respects the trainer no matter what. Satoshi had that with Charizard. Charizard would insult him and burn him to a crisp, but when he was really in trouble Charizard wouldn't let him get hurt. I think that's really awesome.

Sorry to get all deep about Pokemon. I just really love it.

I fully agree! The bond between pokemon and trainer was what originally made pokemon so awesome!
