They are different ships. The Northampton in game is USS Northampton CL-26, which was built in 1928 and sunk in 1942. This is USS Northampton CLC-1, built in 1944 and scrapped in 1977. She’s what was called a “vengeance ship”, which is a ship named after another that was sunk earlier in the war. Yorktown ii is another example of this.

This is the first attention Northampton has gotten in five years (outside of a chapter in Hornet's secretary quest), and they forgot both her hair ribbon and her purple hair.
I want to get excited over this, but I just feel disappointed.
