The second anime out of the first three I saw (first being "Lensman", third being "Harlock"... or was it "Galaxey Express 999"?. All I know is Harlock was in it and that's all that really matters.)

Misunderstood your comment at first. Took it to mean you were calling this character part of a Harlock anime.

Most likely it was Galaxy Express 999 as Harlock DID make a guest apperance. Same with the lovely & mysterious Queen Emeraldas.
