I’ve seen that relationship refereed to as the “Freudian nightmare” along with Inigo and Odin essentially birthing their mothers(Soleil probably being the most far removed)
But for Severa, this is one of the most unintentionally nightmarish scenarios I’ve seen in fiction. Considering all the…issues. She has with her mother. That are kinda deep seated. Marrying someone who is essentially a male version of your mother is already…pretty bad.
But literally giving birth to a copy of your own mother, and have history repeat itself, triggering your psychological issues that are the source of all your worries all over again, is just…my god.
It is honestly hilarious how torturous the Selena/Caeldori support is. Like, Selena is in hell.
It doesn’t help that Selena and Subaki have, I think, identical growths and so they make a good pairing. I always put them together because…how could I not?
