What I called a "tea grinder" is actually a "cha-usu," a grinder with a very specific make, shown with a cutaway diagram at the bottom of this page. The lower half has a shaft of wood sticking up out of it, and the detachable upper half has a hole in the middle that you thread through the shaft. You pour tea leaves into the space between the shaft and hole, and then twist and rock the upper half to grind them.
