They gave up on this game's story mode half-way into its lifespan.
It was, like, you had a sentient assist AI, and you meet a guy who's looking for his sister, and then the two of you split off and you find the sister and he finds his own AI, and the AI convinces him you're a jerk and he should hate you, and the island you're on is going through a corporate buyout. Y'know, normal Pokémon spin-off stuff.
