Guts vs Zodd on the Hill of Swords.

Well, I think this will be my new favourite piece for a while! Spent so much time on this personal art, and I've been so excited to finish it! Definitely feel like I've levelled up - I'm so happy with how it's come out.

All in all, this came together well, and I don't feel I particularly struggled on it - it just took time! I tried a new approach to sketching, with just painting on shapes instead with about 5 grey shades to really help visualize the composition and light. I cannot believe how much this helped! I definitely still find sketching the hardest part, so to anyone else who has trouble I'd definitely recommend it!

I knew I wanted to paint Zodd in his Apostle form, and the epic battle on top the Hill of Swords was the perfect scene to illustrate. I was freaking out that Guts would not come out well as I'm still not confident on my human skills, but I'm so suprised at myself with how good he looks!

I've got process images so will talk more indepth about my process at some point, if I can make some sense of it, haha.
