Not just tank but HEAVY TANK (e.g. Tigers, KVs, Churchills).

Word goes that he was named Heavy Tank for his running gait that emphasizes a "low center of weight" with a heavy plodding stride resembling a tank's treads in motion. ("Digging into the ground cyclically", as they call it.)
IMHO heavy tanks usually having problems with their transmissions makes the nickname doubly apt, though this probably wasn't the intention.
