Well, considering all the stuff she is capable (judging from all the images) she is pretty much a fantasy mecha. And that makes her awesome, in my opinion.
Of course, that's always a nice plus. Actually, I got interested in her. Anyone has more information, outside the fact she is some sort of golem/robot/whatever maid?
She's a Golem made by Huit's parents. She has no will or heart of her own, and is controlled by the scroll/tablet Huit wears on her wrist. Even so, she does express herself, not through speaking but through making mechanical noises or releasing steam. Huit translates for her when she does, so it may actually be Huit expressing herself through Vante.
It's possible for Vante to be used by someone else, even against Huit, but they would need to know the right language and the scroll. Even though Vante has no heart of her own, obviously she is not boring or mechanical, always performing her tasks with the appropiate and most pleasant of faces.
(That's a summary based upon what I've read, so it may not be entirely accurate.)

Wow! That's actually an interesting take on a mechanical golem. How to say it - she is truly a masterwork of engineering (and other related objects required to create such a being).
