1. That's the M82A2, a short-lived variant. It probably didn't sell well so it was discontinued.

2. The colors on the tip denote different ammunition types:
Silver w/ yellow sabot --> M903 SLAP (Saboted Light Armor Penetrator)
Green over gray --> Raufoss Mk 211
Silver w/ red sabot --> M962 SLAP-T (tracer variant of SLAP)
Unpainted rounds in the magazine --> standard ball ammo
