    Considering Sakuya, Reimu and Sanae are hanging around all fine and dandy I guess this setting is more of an alternate Gensokyo than a future Gensokyo...or Reimu and Sanae became goddesses and Sakuya time stopped her own aging...

    Or kappas can build cities, technology and teach modern ways of life to humans insanely fast.

    OR Gensokyo opened up to the Outside World and they integrated into each other.

    It's a Gensokyo where the Barrier wasn't needed.

    Because Love did not depart from the world, and Children did not lose their smile, strawberries didn't go extinct, everyone beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation did not not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.
