As long as it's not upscaled, there's no such thing as an image too big.
People with tri-headed desktops may want to turn it in a wallpaper. If it's too big for you, use IrfanView and scale it.

I'd like to know where you got your monitor, then, because this is a good four and a half of our Earth screens in width alone.

Scale and crop. Any good OS can do that automatically.

If this is too big for you, go into my account, settings, preferences, and there's two options for resizing. Turn both on. One sends samples of images to you (That are still quite wide) and the other sets width to be 100% or less so you don't need to horizontal scroll.

Please link me to your monitor that has a resolution greater or equal tot 4096 horizontal native.

That said, an image is rarely too big. (When they start getting in the hundreds of megabytes range, and your computer crashes, that's when you have too big.)
