Don't really see the point of wings when everybody in touhou/Gensokyo flies by floating or using items(like a broom stick)

Because wings look Awesome, there is no other reason. You think Flandre's un-aerodynamic wings make her fly? Hell no. Wings just make everything better.

To make it worse, wings on the back aren't suppose to allow someone to fly because the strength of the muscle isn't enough to lift someone from the ground, let alone flying away with it.

It's just to make it cool, that's all...
