No beard, and he didn't carry a weapon either. At least not a knife. That doesn't matter though this is an artist interpretation. How many pics are there of Terra (Tina) and Celes gettin' it on? That wasn't in the game but nobody asks "did Terra have a cock in FF VI? No? Not even in the concept art?"
