Scratch that, apparently I was hasty. Pohlstars of wakachan's /os/ had the following to say:
"Coastal Defence Vessel/Light Cruiser Peder Skram. Named after a 16th century Danish admiral. Rather old by the time WW2 came around as it was built before WW1. The Germans occupied Denmark in 1940 but allowed a large degree of self-rule for the Danes. That came to an end on 29 August 1943. In reaction the crew of Peder Skram scuttled the ship in its harbor. The Germans raised and recommissioned it as the training ship and anti-aircraft defence vessel Adler. Sunk in 1945 by Allied bombers in the inlet of Kiel.
Artillery Ship/Light Cruiser Niels Juel. Variant spelling Iuel. Also note that the artist misspelled Niels as Niel (causing me unnecessary grief when trying to id this ship, as if being forced to read Danish texts wasn't bad enough). Ship named after a 17th century admiral, by many considered the greatest admiral in Danish history. Most powerful ship in the Danish WW2 navy. Tried to flee to Sweden on 29 August 1943 but came under attack from German aircraft. Captain ran it aground after which the crew destroyed as much of the ship as they could. Raised and recommissioned as the Kriegsmarine training ship Nordland. Scuttled less than a week before the German surrender. A ship scuttled twice by its own crew is pretty rare, perhaps unique."
Cute mechamusume certainly help, too ;) It's nice to know what ships we're supposed to be looking at. Only downside is now I'm gonna have to Google 'em to see what they really look like :p
