I bet the eponymous witch is basically Lalah Sune, Tiffa Adill, Yurin L'Ciel or any Newtype girl if they were the main protagonist instead of the love interest. Would be quite an interesting direction!
The plot might be based on Red Witch of Mercury by Robert Emmett McDowell so maybe it'll be a conflict between Mercury and Earth this time around?
