If anyone isn't aware, umamusumes in the series wear buruma if they're based off of an IRL female horse, while they wear shorts if they're based off of an IRL male horse.

Mejiro Dober was a female horse IRL, so she gets buruma.

Of course, they're more comfortable and easier to run in. Any good trainer should know what's best for the umas.
