So, according to this, traditionally I'm Keine. But looking at the card for my exact day of birth, I'm ....oh shit. I'm Flandre.

Lily White probably fits because she's associated with spring, which is often associated with romance.

Yuuka is more likely to fuck your shit up lol
Seriously, I think Yuuka got The Sun because she is always associate with sunflowers.
For Yukari, wasn't she one of the creaters of Gensoukyo? So that's why she got the "World" card?

To be honest, I expected Mokou to be The Hermit.
She definitely fits there more than Yuyuko.

Also, it's really ironic how I see Mokou's represent victory, when her revenge is left eternally unfulfilled.

I thought it had something to do with her being a reality warper or at least her manipulation over all boundaries.

The names of the major arcana in Tarot are not literal. The World arcana is not literally "The World." Though, I don't see why people are dissecting the character picks here. The artist clearly was going more for wordplay luls than characters who most fit the major arcana.

I think you are right. Moon should be represented by Reisen. After all, she is the master of illusions and madness. Besides, she is also from the moon.

Apparently, add the month you were born, day, first two digits of the year, and last two digits. And then you add the two numbers of the sum together. If you get 3 digits, add the first two digits to the last, although I guess it doesn't quite matter too much.

Using that, I got either The Moon or The Hermit, both of which are kinda fit me.

To find out the tarot card for your birthday, simply add up each individual digit of your full birthday, as in this example:

01/01/1990 = 0+1+0+1+1+9+9+0 = 21 which corresponds with 21. The World (Yukari). If you get a total over 22 (card 0. The Fool is also card #22 in the Major Arcana), simply add the resulting two digits together (i.e., 34 would be 3+4=7, etc.).

    With that said, I'm The Hermit (Yuyuko). Pretty fitting, lol =_=;

So let me see if I got this right. 01/16/1991 would be 10?

Yup! You're the Wheel of Fortune. Additionally, here's a link that does it for you and provides a little about each of the cards (just for everyone's reference): http://www.obeythefist.com/tarot/

Jin - Yeah, you've got it. I'm a chariot, which doesn't fit me at all. However, I do love Mokou. But I don't think Mokou fits the chariot either. So my conclusion is that Mokou and I should run off together to escape our poor categorization.

Too bad tarot is one of those things that's been so twisted you can't get a good resource on it. The last reading I had the person didn't even know about/include the minor arcana.

I don't believe it tells the future like it's usually shown to in movies and stuff. I moreso believe it offers guidance. Basically, you get a reading and it makes you think about how it applies to you. There's insight and knowledge to be gained from that.

Everyone likes victory. I just figure I'm more of a Stregnth.

But it's funny because, using that system, both my mother and brother are Heirophants. So me being a chariot creates a Keine/Mokou combo which fits suprisingly well.

lol, my birthday is 1/16 as well (but 1990) .-.
    --------------

As for the artist's choice of characters, I don't think there's really much thought put into the actual meaning of the tarot card itself, but rather what each touhou character is well-known for (like Suika is known for being ridiculously strong).

I mean >_>; Yuuka was only chosen for The Sun because the card in Japanese is read "Taiyou" and a word for "Sunflower" can be "taiyou no hana". Kaguya was chosen for The Moon with a similar process of thinking.

.....why did no one comment on Lily White as The Lovers yet?

Ah . . . I think the method that site uses is different from the method suggested by hitsuuna -- using hitsuuna's method, I'm identified as III, but if I plug my birthday into the site I'm pegged as XII . . . =_=

Still, interesting to try the different methods.

There are a massive number of ways to do a reading, from a full on spread to just a 3-Card Spread using only Major Arcana.

10/10/1987 = 27, 9. That's quite spooky, seeing as how all my friends come to me for advice but I never actually hang out with them. I'm a mild Hermit! Wheee~

Oh, and I'm apparently Kanako, The Emperor, which is totally weird as that one site's description of the Emperor does not match me AT ALL.

Second method gave me Kanako. I don't think that 'The Emperor' fits me though.

15: The Devil Rumia The Devil represents impulse and attachment to material things. Rumia is a carnivorous youkai frequently craving for human flesh.
10: Wheel of Fortune Remilia Scarlet The Wheel of Fortune represents luck and fate. Remilia manipulates fate.
11: Justice Hakurei Reimu Justice represents balance and order. Reimu is the one mainly responsible for keeping peace and order throughout Gensokyo, and is also the creator of the spellcard system, which would allow for non-fatal resolutions to conflicts.
21: The World Yakumo Yukari The World represents fulfillment and wholeness. Yukari's ability to control boundaries makes her the guardian of Gensokyo's borders.
5: The Hierophant Kamishirasawa Keine The Hierophant represents education and tradition. Keine is a schoolteacher.
3: The Empress Aki Minoriko The Empress represents sexuality, fertility and abundance. Minoriko is a harvest goddess.
6: The Lovers Lily White The Lovers represents love and dilemma. Lily is the herald of spring, a time of love.
4: The Emperor Yasaka Kanako The Emperor represents control and stability. Kanako acts as the "father figure" for the rest of her "family".
7: The Chariot Fujiwara no Mokou The Chariot represents victory and conquest. Mokou is hellbent on killing Kaguya, despite knowing that Kaguya - and Mokou herself - are immortal.
8: Strength Ibuki Suika Strength represents self-control and courage. Suika is a regularly drunken - but insanely strong - oni, whose sense of self-control seems restricted to not allowing herself to go sober.
12: The Hanged Man Kagiyama Hina The Hanged Man represents sacrifice and surrender. Hina absorbs curses at her own price.
20: Judgement Shiki Eiki, Yamaxanadu Judgement represents redemption and verdicts. Eiki is the judge of the underworld, but is also somewhat moralistic.
0: The Fool Cirno The Fool represents beginnings of experience and the protagonist. Cirno is - in most regards - a childish ice fairy but not a protagonist. It can also represent literal foolishness.
1: The Magician Kirisame Marisa The Magician represents action and initiative. Marisa is, of course, a magician, but she also has initiative... where "borrowing" things are concerned.
2: The High Priestess Patchouli Knowledge The High Priestess represents wisdom, arcane knowledge and magic. Patchouli is essentially a walking spellbook with a lot of magic power... notwithstanding her reclusive nature and her frequent bouts of anemia and asthma.
9: The Hermit Saigyouji Yuyuko The Hermit represents philosophy and solitude. Despite her seemingly whimsical attitude, Yuyuko is intelligent and is responsible where her powers over death are involved.
14: Temperance Yagokoro Eirin Temperance represents alchemy, harmony and equilibrium. In a traditional sense Eirin is an alchemist, and her blue-red dress helps with the association with equilibrium.
19: The Sun Kazami Yuuka The Sun represents happiness and accomplishment. Yuuka governs the blooming of flowers depending on the season, and the seasons are associated with the Sun.
13: Death Onozuka Komachi Death represents endings and change. Komachi is a Shinigami, but is, more accurately, equivalent to Charon of Greek mythology - she is the ferryman of the souls of the dead.
17: The Star Kochiya Sanae The Star represents hope and faith. Sanae can create miracles, and is the more optimistic of the two mikos (Reimu is easygoing and realist). Most of her spellcards also involve stars.
18: The Moon Houraisan Kaguya The Moon represents illusion, dreams and fantasy. Simply put, Kaguya is the former princess of the Lunarians.
16: The Tower Flandre Scarlet The Tower represents disaster and violent change. Flandre can cause wanton destruction, which once forced her older sister Remilia to seal her within the confines of their mansion.
