The original commentary does leave it in ambiguous hiragana, but I think the 帰す form of kaesu fits the theme of the game/image more than the 返す form of kaesu, so I changed the translation accordingly.
As sad as it might seem, if we think about it based on ANOTHER character that got isekai’d into this place, if this is original Dawn/Lucas then they will remember nothing. Or at least very little memory and probably won’t get it back.
I have a theory that you were sent through a Ultra wormhole. Ever since SM and USUM it all make sense how the time traveling and how the remake with different games work despite being in similar worlds in that they are all alternate universes via Ultra wormholes. Heck, even the mystery dungeon series make sense now how there are worlds of only Pokemon. Falling through an Ultra wormhole without proper protection messes up your memories and you can go to both different time and space.
And if we consider it ultra wormhole it works out the time paradox in that if original Dawn/Lucas stay around and have kids, their descendants won’t be them since it would be another world.
Or it could just be the Philip J.Fry theorem and they become their own grandparents but the lack of Delta Brainwaves will probably be useful in the future when the brains attack.

My theory is Akari is Dawns real name and she calls herself Dawn and has everyone else do so because its just to painful for her to have all those ghosts from her past, people who look so similar to those she befriended and has all these expeirinces with, to call her Akari. If they do she can only see what she's lost and cant actually see them for who yhey are. She does it to try and seperate herself FROM Akari and the life she had to give up when she went home.
