Aggh. This is really a cute little picture (I love the soft colors and Sanae's face is so sweet!) but my mind seems to always be drawn back to how, even if she were to be wearing a long skirt (l-lol Sukeban Sanae?), her perspective/scale/proportions relative to the ground seem to be majorly off. How distracting...

I took the flowers into account. Maybe I'm just going crazy, but it still seems wonky to me. The vending machine, pole, and trashcan are all along the same base line- the ground. Sanae's feet should, in theory, be on the ground too. But at where she's standing, she'd either be a midget or somehow standing through the ground, wouldn't she?
Moreover, the average vending machine is 6' tall. The average metal trash can is around 2'7". The average teenage Japanese girl is 5'2". If she's closer to us in the visual plane than those objects and far enough away from where they're sitting to have her legs hidden by the flowers, why is she still so low and small compared to them? Shouldn't she be much bigger?
That said, I'm thinking it could just be a size issue in general. Looking at it more, those sodas seem huge compared to her.. I did a quick mock-up where I scaled her up and it seems to work much better.
