Isn't obvious? Simon's death would ignite the Spiral in Kamina, who would sepnd the next few days fighting (Yoko in Lagann,) in a blind rage until Gurren Lagann rejects him. In a canyon, Kamina finds Nia, whom he and Yoko 'adopt' as a kind of daughter/replacement little brother.
Kamina spends the time until Dai-Gurren Brigade is trapped by Guame attempting to carve statues of Simon.
Dia-Gurren is captured and Kamina eventually realizes the true nature of Simon's never ending will to persevere: Lagann responds. Yoko and the others take out mooks with Gurren, while Kamina rescues Nia.
Yoko and Kamina pilot the Gurren Lagann against Guame and after a rousing speech Kamina, Yoko and Nia Giga Drill Break Guame.

Well... i guess Simon is pretty much Kamina with new body already after that incident so if the incident is the other way around it's pretty much just Kamina with his own body
He'll scream like "SIIMOOOOooooo~~~~~~~n!!!" just like it was with his father. This time, the entire universe including antispiral can hear his scream.

Except not. Simon was the only reason Kamina was still alive, and on the surface for that matter. Kamina is awesome, but he just isn't awesome incarnate like Simon, and he knows it. Simon's death would spiral, get it, the heroes into a sad demise.

So Kamina was the Jesus of TTGL? Is that the reason, that he died without shagging Yoko or is that typical shonen crap element about the main character not getting any tail?
