Any idea what the drink is supposed to be?

It looks like tea but appears that more is in the pitcher which makes me think of cold tea, but I don't know if that's a common drink - especially to accompany eating watermelon.

Probably mugicha (barley tea). It's a typical summer drink in Japan.
