Well, not exactly, considering they're already mired in a swamp/quicksand. When you're in this predicament, it should take a hell of a lot of energy, physical or magical, to blatantly pull yourself up. So I don't think they can just fly out of it. It depends on the way their magical flight works though.

I mean normally, they should have flown once they noticed the mire instead of all of them acting like disney lemmings.
