    "Ate-a-Spider Woman/UMAn". Reference to the RL Matikanetannhauser (the racehorse) once being forced to withdraw from an upcoming race after breaking out in hives from eating a spider that slipped inside his hay.

    Slipped my mind earlier, but... there was an infamous incident involving Matikanetannhauser's RL counterpart where he was forced to withdraw from a big ticket race because he broke out in hives... after eating a spider that slipped into his hay.

    This had led to various art being drawn of uma Machitan eating spiders, usually by accident, e.g. dropping into her mouth when she's asleep, accidentally blending into a smoothie, straight up eating spiders wandering on her muffin or hamburg steak without noticing... or in this case here ORIGIN STORY: ATE A RADIOACTIVE SPIDER.
