Before clicking the pic I had an idea, but... did she tank a shotgun blast with that stone-carved back of hers? Because those things puncturing her skin look like shots to me.

Bruh a shotgun would blow a hole through her.

Bold of you to assume her THICC muscles can't tank some metallic sand.

Depends on the kind of shot they're using.
Birdshot, that won't kill a man.

But who would bring Birdshot to combat?

Well said "sand" is extremely hot, explosive and traveling at deadly speeds.

Someone who forgot to change it out of the chamber, should they have left it in. If they're lucky, birdshot might hit them and daze them enough to bleed out from the many small fragments, provided it deals enough penetration at all.

Birdshot is actually a common round for home defense. There's less collateral than buckshot and its absolutely devastating at close range.

At extremely close range I'd say, less than 12 feet. Otherwise the spread begins and it's less than grouped up shot and more dispersed kinetic energy. It also depends on the size of each birdshot pellet. Some will simple annoy the target, others will create a hole and you want to end the confrontation in one hit. Also since home defense will usually mean very close quarters, it will depend on whether or not you are about 2 arms reach away from the intruder or across a long hallway. Buckshot at extreme close ranges of the former type will obviously have a higher chance of collateral damage from penetration, whereas medium distance might be enough to stop too much spread and group them into the target without too much penetration. Obviously, the good thing here is no one said: 'use slugs', I think we all know how much overkill that would be in a home defense situation, unless you live in a house with a built in 100 metre run track.

But that's not even what they were talking about? They were talking about the stupidity of bringing bird shot to an actual fight, not the morality of firing bird shot at a child.

An idiot who brings birdshot where killing is needed isn't cruel. He's an idiot.

If he were trying to kill him then why did the woman block the shot instead of pushing the kid out of the way?
The only reason I can think of is that she knew the shooter had birdshot, and the more likely reason for that is that the shooter explicitly stated he had birdshot in his gun and the only reason to do that is because the shooter is maliciously cruel and wants to see people suffer.

    Boom, Lawyered!

Alright then, mister smart man, why don't you tell me why anyone would try to block a shot with their back instead of pushing the target out of the way.

Confined space, like a hallway, or ambush with limited time to react. If the time to react was limited enough, taking the shot might have been considered the most reasonable course of action in the moment, even if in reality it wasn't.
The idea of someone monologuing about how they loaded birdshot is ridiculous. For one, why would anyone sit there and explain it, when what appears to be perfectly capable person is present. If they wanted to be cruel, it's possible to wing someone with buckshot, which I believe someone above mentioned has a tighter grouping at a longer distance, especially depending on the length of barrel, choke used, smooth vs rifled bore etc. Not only are these more severe wounds if cruelty is intended, but they also don't give up stopping power like you would with buckshot.
So, with that all in mind, like I said, it's better to assume stupidity over malice.

If you're a lawyer, do your clients a favor and quit.

Boomers, essentially. My dad used to keep #7 birdshot in his shotgun for home defense, before it got stolen.
