Zun never did figure out that the haft and blade of a melee weapon tend to not be droopy and bent, did he? Maybe someone should tell him to invest in a straightedge...
The more badass and awesome your weapon looks the more effective it is when fighting in an anime world. As of right now Elly's scythe is probably just as effective if not more so than a military firearm.
