Why exactly did I do this? Well I see a lot of cool realistic Pokemon art out there but I honestly don't see a whole lot of satisfying realistic Yugioh monsters, so I'm taking a go at it. And I think Yugioh deserves some light in this "making cartoon monsters realistic" party. Slifer is my personal favorite so I started with him. As always, the point is to keep the iconic features while adding more texture and anatomical structure. If you know me I don't like compromising character for scientific accuracy, while at the same time throwing in things I think would look cool. I tried to keep it close to the colors of the original card. Eventually Obelisk and Ra will join him. For the record, I miss the old Yugioh, when it was actually dark and had a cool ancient mythology behind it...
