    Umamusume Manga: "Explosive Escape☆"


    "Explosive Escape Combination" (爆逃げコンビ; baku nige conbi) is the name of the Mejiro Palmer and Daitaku Helios grouping, although they are sometimes also referred to as the "Idiot Combination" (バカコンビ; baka conbi).

    Poor Palmer, the black sheep of the Mejiro Family. Can't get the approval of the family even when winning the Takarazuka Kinen.

    Same goes for the RL horse. Won the 1992 Takarazuka Kinen, but only one person from the Mejiro Co. showed up for the award ceremony because nobody expected him to win.

    In fact, in the anime McQueen is the only Mejiro to interact with Palmer, although very briefly and only once. You can also see McQueen has a photo of Palmer winning Takarazuka Kinen. (Edit: in her room, next to photos of herself and her friends)

    Curiously, during the in-game season 2 celebratory event story, when Satono noticed Palmer bears the Mejiro name, Palmer quickly brush it off. Either there is some conflict between the family or the devs haven't thought so far yet.

    Might explain in the season 3. After all Palmer is a "Blacksheep" of the family, but then again devs need to fill a good explanation of "why"
