I don't know it it's what the author meant by ガリア, but Garrya is a real genus of plants. I don't know if the real plant had any herbal use.

Silk tassel (Garrya spp.) extract contain compounds that act as smooth muscle relaxants. They are traditionally used in the Americas to treat various cramps (menstrual, stomach, lung, etc.)

Though I think ガリア here refers to the Garryaceae family, not the genus. The aucubas are also members of this family (along with the silk tassels) and both Aucuba chinensis and Aucuba japonica (decoction of leaves or fruit) are sometimes used traditionally to treat burns and scalds and other external traumatic injuries.
