(if you can't see the page because of the anti-adblock or don't know how to disable that anti-adblock using inspect page, tl;dr the mold spread on a moldy bread was not limited to the 'moldy' part. The mold's hives has actually spread all across the bread, with the 'moldy' part being it's reproductive area, i.e the part where it sows spores.)
Compared to that, the black spots on banana wasn't rotten. It's just overripe.

On more than one occasion, I have started eating something, only to discover halfway through eating it that it had mold growing on it. This entry hits me on a personal level.

Especially when it's dim/dark and you're munching on a muffin or some other baked good without turning on the lights.
Did it once and the muffin even tasted perfectly fine. Only noticed when I happened to look closer.
