Edit: There's an older LN called Unmei no Tarot (The Tarot of Fate) which heavily features the Akashic Records as a plot device. That one is published by Kodansha (under the Kodansha X Bunko Teens Heart imprint). Could be that book instead... but yannow, Gold Ship.
