50 Shades of Grey is a fine work of literature (compared to your average isekai novel).

I mean, they're both fanfiction-turned-official work with massive level of self-insert fantasy and in the end is nothing but just the author's fetish compilcation in disguise, no?

Yes, but Warfarin’s been alive for centuries; after all that time you think she’d have more discerning taste. There’s gotta be better-written stories out there that appeal to her masochism.

Well, 50SoG is terribly written, but it also made the author a millionaire. That’s more than can be said about any other Isekai story I’m aware of.
