I'm sure the shop promised to send the item in an unmarked box with no labels, descriptions, or brand names revealing the contents. They didn't promise the box itself would properly cover the contents.

Actually, it does look like it fits in the box correctly.

Looks more like they opened it to check the contents with how suspicious-looking said package is

Why would they open like that though?

I mean, if they had just cut it open the normal way and taped it back up no one would even know. But I suppose if they did that we wouldn't have gotten this funny little scene here.

I hoped the commentary would explain this situation, but alas, it only tells me someone is always opening his packages, not why.

That's what happens when it's someone incompetent doing the job.

There's a picture after this on pixiv with more dialogue from her. Might shed some light on the situation.

Apparently she's in charge of the deliveries to that area (implied) and opens up his packages all the time? Still not 100% clear though; it's left deliberately vague with implied subtext.

If this happened in real life and a complain goes to the company, the delivery person could literally lose their job as a result. But I get that this was just a silly art for fun

Considering this is happening to the artist in real life, it's almost certainly a government agency that is opening the packages, looking for drugs or bombs or censored materials or whatever. They should seal the package back up, but because it's funnier this way, it's not shown that way in the image, so that it can be used for shaming.

There's nothing actually indicating that this image is inspired by real life, is there?

The artist commentary gives an impression like this is one of those things where the artist is making a sexualized version of what happens to him in real life.

    I'm not sure it does

I'm not exactly getting that out of it. The commentary sounds to me more like the narrative of the "porn plot" being depicted here and in the subsequent image - the full plot being that this delivery woman is opening his unlabeled brown packages in the (in this case, justified) hope that it will turn out to be something sexual, so she can use it as a lead-in to flirt with him.

It's the sort of thing that's hot if and only if the sexual advance is wanted, and is otherwise highly creepy (and since one should never assume sexual interest, would default to "creepy" in real life).

Well, I certainly don't think it's definite, just an impression I get from the way the commentary is stated, since there's certainly artists that sexualize clearly mundane things, and this artist does that in some images, as well (messages from the farmer on produce exist, they just generally don't involve obvious cleavage). Plus, I know I've heard lots from people saying that in places like Canada, it's hell to get anything imported because everything gets stopped and inspected by customs and all their packages arrive torn up.

All right, so instead the commentary is just about receiving packages being subjected to incompetent customs inspection and building a "the delivery girl is doing it so she can flirt with me" story almost completely from scratch? I could buy that.
