Anybody knows why the official trailer got privatized? Was watching it back when it's out, and when I want to rewatch it's gone.
Aside from that, the design clearly screams Xenosaga. She's also be an UR (rainbow) ship, so can't wait if she'll shake the current carrier-heavy meta.
Why do other nations get better BB designs than the US?
That bodystocking is so ridiculously tight that we can see her belly button. A feat impossible in real life unless its a second skin. So why can't we see the outlines of her nipples? Does she not have any? You could've covered that part if you didnt want to show them. Not even gonna go over the whole Kos-Mos ripoff or how ill-fitting it is with the rest of the Eagle Union fleet. Its more fitting to a Siren to be so sci-fi than a 1940s battleship- Radar or not, its still an oil-driven steam engine firing cordite-bag powered guns.

Official trailer didn't have a VA, they should have re-uploaded one that has her voice by this point. It's on Reddit at least.

She might shake the meta in the main game a bit, but as for OpSi, she *will* be the meta

I'm with you dude, shame the fanboys just can't accept criticism. I'm sure they'll down vote bomb this too to silence all dissent. Because you know you're not allowed to question the design decisions of ships you're highly invested in and looking forward too. Only mindless praise is allowed.
Seriously this just awful.
"Busy" doesn't even begin to describe it and good look even identifying what damn ship it's supposed to be. Telling it's an Iowa at all would be difficult, but telling it's New Jersey would be effectively impossible. Then as noted you get into the fact the aesthetic is wildly out of place for the faction and what it's supposed to be anthropomorphizing as well. I'd comment on it being basically another damn stripper too, but I've long ago given up on more then 10% of EU ships actually wearing F'ing clothes that cover more skin then a swimsuit.
Just an absolute miss on every level, as most EU ships are in AL if we're being honest.
I dont get it, USN ships have a progression Early ships like Enterprise - Bow and arrow (Pre Pearl harbor state of the USN) Mid war ships like Baltimore and Essex that are shown using composite materials on their weapons and dressing (Rapid development of the US tech in general) Now we got NJ that clearly (And not gonna lie it went a bit too far into the future, should had been like Bremerton or Allen M Summer) make sense in the progression as they were late war tech and NJ herself just went into war patrols in the spring of 44', so calling NJ design awful is just not really fair in my eyes.

I would agree. She and her sisters are the pinnacle of USN Battleship design and she did survive all the way to the mdoern day where she exists as a museum ship in her 1980s refit. By WWII standards New Jersey as she exists in the modern day is sci fi which greatly justifies her sci fi design theme.
Shinano - Yamato class - UR New Jersey - Iowa class - UR Tirpitz - Bismarck class - why this not UR?
Because the Bismarck class for all intents and purposes are nowhere near as good as the Iowa and Yamato class Battleships and there are plenty of European BBs that are as good as or even better than the Bismarck class

"Sabaton told me otherwise! They can't be lying!" /s
Not what I expected from the Iowa-class, but I can warm up to it well enough. The not-bunny-totally-dragon headgear jars me the same way it did with the Souryuus, who I thought would be dragons too, and she looks, uhh, not what I expected from hearing from Americans about New Jersey stereotypes.
A little too sci-fi and fantastical, though. I thought they'd reserve this kind of design for the Montana PRs or Des Moines, but I guess it's fitting since the US, unlike Nazi Germany, could actually afford their SUPER SCIENCE projects, and there was the image that the Iowas were something of an unneeded luxury compared to the SoDaks.
Nailed it that it would be controversial. It's a design that makes sense in words, but just not expected.

These guys are probably GoldSaw clone accounts who are known for always giving mean spirited comments sugarcoated as criticism every single time Eagle Union gets new stuff.

Probably not clones, there's just an unreasonable amount of people who are never satisfied with American ships. Release a strong non-American ship and they'll complain about bias, release an American ship that doesn't redefine the meta and they'll complain. If they're not sexualized enough they complain, if they're too sexualized they complain. You can't please them and they'll make sure you know it.

If you like her, fine, but don't make stuff up to try and rationalize it. What you're claiming is absolute nonsense, there is no progression whatsoever. The USN ships are just a scatter gun of ideas lacking any real form of coherence or theme as a faction, some of the sister ships have one, but not the faction as a whole. Just look at an example from the very batch you try to cite Marblehead is from the 1920s but doesn't look a lick different in overall style from Bremerton or Summner.
Although even within that NJ still manages to look rather out of place, which is kind of a feat in and of itself. That plus managing not to incorporate ANY of the lore or character of the ship in question into the design in any meaningful way along with being overwrought in general is why it's a fail in my eyes.

Do you even know what this means?
Yes, hanging 50 tons of out of place crap taking up the entire screen off their back and dwarfing the acutal character. Piling more crap onto the character's back doesn't make it better, it just makes them look unbalanced and as I said busy. A number the Iron Blood ships have the same problem.
As expected though. No criticism allowed, scream down all critics and claim they're 'trolls' and 'haters', no one is allowed to disagree with the design decisions of the almighty artists who do no wrong.

That is not what busy means when describing a character design. There is nothing "busy" about her design. "Busy" means there are an excessive number of conflicting elements, too many colors, too many accessories, ect.
Also, for real? She's a battleship. Battleships have really big guns. She wouldn't be recognizable as a battleship if she didn't have the guns the historical ship used, and it wouldn't make any sense for the biggest guns used in naval combat being the same size as the guns used by Light Cruisers.

Does have a lot of sci-fi accents and Gundam-esque joints and articulation-ly bits though.
I suppose it depends on who is looking at it. For most people not really into (RL) ships, probably not busy. But for people who's approaching it from a "WWII aesthetics" perspective... probably?

*Looks over at all the other battleships*
Though generally, seems like guns in drawings are getting bigger and bigger over time (for newer ships), irrespective of their RL diameter and calibers. Compare, say the QE-class's 15''/42 guns, which are drawn tiny compared to all the newer AzLane battleships' guns.
Tiny compared to some of the cruiser guns too, sometimes.
Homie, just say you don't like it and move. And layer your opinion with "criticism" when you seem to be the only one who doesn't like it. Chill out and go o

Those elements don't conflict with eachother, however. Whether or not it conflicts with "WWII aesthetics" doesn't matter, more so when the riggings are the only parts of the designs that ever align with that aesthetic for most of the ships anyway.
Her color pallette is simple, her design is cohesive, she's not busy. Closure is busy.

WW2 guns and turret profile + futuristic sci-fi accents/bits will in of itself clash for some people who are into naval stuff. For me it does (somewhat), and i have to do a little bit of mental 'reorientation' to justify it to myself in my head.
Then toss in bodysuit + futuristic mechanical bunny ears on top, then contrast that with the WW2-period-esque military uniform. Many elements that might clash for some people. Though admittedly only for those who are more into the naval military history scene.
Now, overall, it doesn't clash enough for me to call it bad, and overall I still think it's a good design (especially if I MST3K Mantra'd away the whole based on WWII design and uniform thing). But the clashes still exist, at least for some people.
A better analogy exists for Bremerton. For most people? Sporty girl, carries herself confidently, not afraid to show off her body. Also a ship-themed mecha musume with gun bits and vague American-looking uniform. Overall, design fits.
But for people who are into naval military history, including me? Not getting the number of gun turrets right is one big massive clash and immediately torpedoes the whole design. So for me, Bremerton's design (with rigging on) is bad.
(Without rigging, just a cute sporty girl, I guess.)

I think the devs got caught into a trap of making the riggings bigger and bigger for whatever reason, maybe they think people won't think the girls are special otherwise? I'm not sure the exact reason, but yes, if you compare with say, Rodney or Nelson, I'd imagine if they were released nowadays their riggings would be much larger. It's funny to me, because in my experience the average player doesn't care about the rigging at all.

You may wanna actually double check that and revise your stance here. She's been fixed since her debut, they removed the extra gun before she was even added to the game.
As for everything else, I never argued that NJ's design was good or bad. I said it's not "busy." Because it's not. "Busy" is too much going on at once, a lack of cohesion, too many details. You can feel some aspects of her design clash, you can think it's a bad design, but it's not a busy design.

Given the "true" nature and story around AL lately... I can't digress if the game is gonna stick to the "WW2" concept or that sci-fi idea might go elsewhere.
But yeah, they kinda need try to stay close to the actual design of the WW2 ship the girl represent or else it will turn into a different entity.

I'm all for turning things into a new entity, mostly because there is a limited amount of content to be used when "retelling history". then again, my favorite parts of the game are the ones not at all related to history nor WWII.

Jeez, I just check out Bremerton's base art. her rigging looks like if you mount WW2 guns on a modern zumwait class hull. And zumwait class is simply ridiculous and not aesthetic appeasing at all.
Nonsense when Enterprise was launched in 1934, then as Baltimore was in July 1942 and Essex as well, Allen M summer was launched in 1943 and Bremerton in 1944 alongside New jersey, so the tech progression makes sense there, but hey if you wanna add up Marblehead yes she is old, but after the battle of Makassar and limping all the way from there to India and then South Africa to land on New York,(Boxing skin makes sense as she is a tough girl). and going extensive repairs she was put afloat again in 1942, (you could call that a retrofit), makes sense she has the same type of clothes as "event batch", but hey the USN being a scattergun on the game is quite fun, you dont know what you will get next, contrasted with the other factions that you know what you will get in terms of design.
