Plus, he will probably get an arrow in his head, what with him wearing no protective headgear. Twas the whole scene most likely is an unfortunate ambush.

These horses and the knights riding them are fully armored (minus what seems to be the main character's helmet), I doubt those petty spears are going to do much.

Seriously, take a closer look at this picture. Those Calvary are so much more better armored than the foot soldiers. Sure, those foot soldiers have numbers, but look at the fading background of this image. There is an entire onslaught of these Calvary; all fully armored knights on fully armored horses.

This isn't even worthy of being called a war, it's just going to be a one sided massacre, and unless I'm mistaken, all of those foot soliders in the front already seem to be gushing out blood. (Obviously from having been attacked by what appears to be the aforementioned main character.)

Spearmen is not a cavarly-killer necessarily. Spear by itself is just one of many weapons. What matters is a formation and its tightness, and the skill of infantrymen who form that formation. German Landsknecht and Helvetian Pikemen, Spanish Tercio army used extra long spears and formed unbeatable anti-cavarly formation, resembling/echoing the long lost tradition of Macedonian Salissa-wielding Phezetairoi Phalanx. The spearmen depicted in the picture doesn't seem to have that proper anti-cavalry capacity. Therefore, the cavalry depicted in the picture have a significant chance of achieving triumph.
