I'm glad I'm not the only feeling this way. One of the main reasons I initially liked GFL was that the designs usually took inspiration from history behind a firearm or at least the country of origin. At the very least, they could try to keep with the "tacticool" aesthetic GFL had.

Yeah, I agree. There's too much going on with this one in particular. I'd imagine designing a girl around a gun is quite a bit more challenging than say a boat or a horse, to be fair.

There's definitely a little more to take into consideration, but a little bit of homework on the country of origin, time period, and the context of the gun would go a long way, you don't need to be an absolute expert on obscure Russian prototype bullpups from the 1940's but you can still come up with some good ideas just from a quick once over of the general time period and context, like two to three hours at least would be enough to come up with plenty of decent concepts.

All y'all missing the point.

Most of them are NOT "guns as girls." They're, explicitly stated, to be androids who have been given the weapon and etched with it. Most of them are not combat androids-see Team DEFY and the AR-team for comparison, or even Team 404. G11 has what, a single major flaw that mimics the G11 in real life? In reality, she was a maid/helper T-doll who was eventually modded to use the G11 but the upgrade was fucky and didn't quite click with her native system, hence her lethargy.

This isn't Kancolle.

As an aside, there's a great many who go through the effort to give them personality and visual appearances that match their real life source.

Honestly some people forget the setting of the game itself. The girls are basically "t-dolls" and majority of them are basically converted from civilian to militarized type.

Hence why the ones we got have an interesting personality, it's because before that they already doing their job as a civilian model android before re-purposed for military use.

All arguments aside, I kinda dig the look.

Probably coincidental because of the "408" in the name, but she reminds me of gang members from the bay area(West Coast, USA), probably going on with the loose clothing and graffiti aesthetic.

Weird, to say the least, as the gun's origin has nothing to do with modern gangsters, but hey...
She looks nice.
