So... a few things here: The guy is wearing a IJA uniform, and the Japanese army and navy didn't exactly like each other during WW2. Heck, most of the army probably thought Yamato was a huge waste of money, so the meme is kinda wrong on that front.

Also, That's Yamato from Space Battleship Yamato, not from WW2.

Finally, the guy has a "Don't steal / Trace / Copy / Edit / Use my Artworks" when he already traced Jackie Chan's face, used a crappy meme template, and straight copy-pasted both Yamato images on his meme while crediting neither source.

Love your dissection. Shouldn’t the IJN and IJA be seperate individuals since they don’t get along and have different flags. The bloke in IJA uniform has an IJN flag because the sun isn’t right in the middle. Many mistake the Empire of Japan as having just a rising sun flag, when their state flag was largely the same as the present (barely different). Guess it makes a clear distinction as in the case with Germany.

Typical deviantart “donut steal” hypocrisy. Reminds me of Spax3. What expect from a countryhumans artist on deviantart.
