I might be wrong, but I think it has something to do with Byleth and Sylvain's B support rank event. In that event, Sylvain pretty much admitted his jealousy over Byleth's lack of concern for her crest and the event pretty much ended with him saying that he hated her while also somewhat threatening that he might kill her (although he tried to play it off as a joke).

So I guess either word of that event must've spread or Byleth told some of the girls about it, and as such the girls of the Golden Deer group intend to properly "discipline" Sylvain on his choice of words.

Anyway, that's what I think is going on anyway.
