What is this about ? Why are people angry at chibi MCs?
Because with how GOOD ORAS remake was, people was getting hyped with having a gen3 remake in switch, which has undoubtly better processing power. And instead of using that new platform for good, they decided to throw SD overworld graphics for 'sake of nostalgia' but has normal proportioned battle animation for trainers and pokemons...not to mention, the new rendering style without the cel-shaded graphics looks very off.
I really do think this is a situation that's been blown out of proportion. While the remake doesn't look stellar, it looks fine and should be good when taken as a whole. As well, it was shown alongside an open world Pokemon game, so there's not much to be disappointed about in my opinion. If you just want a good remake of Diamond and Pearl, get BDSP; if you want something that's a proper leap forward, get Legends: Arceus.
