Admiring the awesome planes, or war is starting and they're scared out of their minds?

There are an awful lot of them about to just be flying around...

Now imagine, that you're sitting in class and your headmaster tells you via loudspeakers that country x declared war on yours. 5 minutes later you see whats in the picture.

They probably will defend themselves with Mecha
and chances are one of those teenagers will pilot one that will save the country

Am I the only one amazed at what seems to be half the class sitting/standing on a ledge outside of the windows? I mean, they don't exactly appear to be on the first floor, judging from the skyline...

i think its a balcony out ter. with a concrete mini wall so they dont fall down from whatever floor they're on. If you look down farthest person down outside the classroom, the guy with a buzz cut, on right of the girl who is wearing a white shirt. His right arm is resting on some kind of rail or wall, the arm looks a near vertical position so i doubt he's resting on his thigh.
