Of course the weak, pathetic American battleship would cower in fear of the unstoppable Japanese battleship. Nevermind what actually happened the one time Yamashiro encountered Colorado-class ships...

Okay, first off, Colorado wasn't there and the Colorado-class ship that did the most damage was heavily modernized while the other one there barely contributed anything, secondly, there's a huge difference between a one on one battleship duel and a one on six shooting gallery, third, there's a huge difference between "I can beat you up" and "my sister can beat you up", finally, people can be a lot scarier when you're not allowed to kill them.

Colorado was damaged during the shelling of Tinian (which lasted from late July to August, 1944) and had to be repaired back in the States.
It's only in November, 1944 that she was heading to support the invasion of Leyte.
By this time, Battle of Leyte Gulf and more specifically, the Battle of Surigao strait has already ended.
Thus, Colorado was never there when Yamashiro fought against West Virginia.

    You missed the point.
This was never about whether the Japanese sscaring the American.
This is making a joke on how demon like the personality of the PERSONIFICATION of the battleship Yamashiro is.

For once this said how Yamashiro got beaten up badly when she met West Virginia.
Never once did it say the mighty Yamashiro could have scared or been better than the US battleships.

Then again, when Yamashiro met West Virginia, it wasn't quite the fair battle, what's with US firepower and participating ships number.

I specifically said "the one time Yamashiro met Colorado-CLASS SHIPS." I never said Colorado was at the Battle of Surigao Strait.

No, I mean where did Kaktus_Lata say that Colorado was at Leyte?

    ???
One does not actually have to be stronger to intimidate the strong.

West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Tennessee and California: "We haven't forgotten what y'all did to us at Pearl."

    Mississippi: "Lol. I'm just here."

We did get a taste of hell of the radar-assisted bombardment from the newly-remodeled battleships including West Virginia......
    That's right.....
West Virginia did look after us back at the Surigao Strait as you have said...
I'm not being serious, of course. I mean, we also did a number on you guys with the Attack on Pearl Harbor.
Oldendorf unit gave us a humble barrage of three hundred large caliber shells and four thousand small to medium caliber shells... I will never ever forgive you all...
For today I'll settle for the big sister, you, to do that on her behalf—wait, what's with the waterworks?
When the time comes, I want to fight her again without any hard feelings.
Yamasiro... You looked so scary when you were angry just now...
We'll be waiting for West Virginia's implementation.
I told you I wasn't being serious! Here, wipe off your tears already...
