"light music" my fucking ass.. Unless those girls are sponsored by the official company (then again, hardly possible), this is pretty much 'LOL ANIME LOGIC'.
A Les Paul Standard can be bought from around a 1,000 bucks. Considering they're in Japan, they have to import so it's going to cost a bit more. Still, in high school I was lucky enough to have a Squire Strat, let alone any guitar. Goddamn
There are only two episodes out.. we don't know anything of anyones background whatsoever other than Tsugumi, (she's rich) so she's outta the picture. For all we know, Mio and Ritsu could also be from wealthy families (Yui isn't, but she got 50,000 yen in advance so that's saying something).. or have been saving for years to get their instruments.. It's just a really bad call to start bashing on stupid things like the cost of an instrument when you have no idea what people's economic standings are. You have to consider in America as well that we buy a lot of things, such as clothing which alone can get up to hundreds of dollars. Since most Japanese schools have uniforms, that eliminates a lot of money spent right there.
Were Yui's Les Paul a real 1958-60 model, its price could be anything from 100K to half a million USD depending on condition, original parts and previous owners. It's safe to assume it's not, though. It's pretty clearly identified as Gibson in the manga. A brand new Standard goes for about 2,500 USD on sale and a Traditional for 1,500-2,200 USD. Assuming Yui's guitar was a couple of years old in the shop and combining that with Mugi's stare of doom, it's plausible she could've got it for ¥50,000 without going too overboard with anime economics. Should've gotten a knock-off and some kind of little amp IMO but meh.
I think I heard Mio's Jazz Bass is a Japanese Fender. Brand new, CIJ Fenders tend to range from USD 400-ish to 1,200-ish. Used ones are priced very reasonably and one can often get a good deal in pawn shops or online auctions. Entirely possible for her to have one.
Dunno 'bout Ritsu's kit but considering some of the stuff a drummer bandmate of mine had in high school, that doesn't seem too excessive.
Mugi's case is obvious. She's rich and her family is implied to even own the music store the girls visit. I read from somewhere how her thick eyebrows were a reference to the CEO of Yamaha and that her name refers to Moog, which makes it strange that she plays a Korg. Teenage rebellion?
And in case anyone is interested, Azunyan's family seems pretty wealthy, too. Her Japanese Fender Mustang costs about ¥100,000 new and she's been shown having stuff like AKG K-701 headphones, at least 300 USD back then.
Mio: FenderI'm sorry, I don't know this one well.Listed Price:Fender guitars often have huge price differences even though they look the same. A Fender JAPAN would cost ¥40,000, for example.Line-upExtensive timbre groups, the power of Valve Force.
TRITON's new evolution. That's a pretty fine guitar! lolTsumugi: KORG
