    Elf with Mossberg 930.

    When I play shooters I always test shotguns, and when I play RPGs I always test poison classes, because those are gameplay elements that have to be heavily nerfed or they end up overpowered, so I'm interested to see how they're handled.

    This man speaks truth. It's a vary rare instances, when these two things are done not only right, but balanced well to either fun and practical.

    I wouldn't know about poisons, since i don't typically play RPGs. I found it quite useless in dark souls, as for the more potent toxic... I'm not gonna play a build that revolves around throwing "literal" shit thank you very much.

    Something I've noticed is that except for those two games, the only shooters that get shotguns 'right' are either single-player games (e.g. Doom) where balance isn't a major concern, or different from your 'usual' shooter (e.g. Titanfall 2). They're bloody hard to balance.

    Well the thing about that is that these 2 games in particular don't care about balancing shotties in that respect. You can make them every bit as powerful as they are IRL and then some ( Insurgency lets you use flechette rounds for maximum overkill ), it's not a problem if you give all the other guns the same treatment.

    Shooters...would the one from Metal Slug count? i mean sure its got short range, but then it hit IT HITS. and then there's the BIG version.
