As far as I can tell it is a kotatsu snail joke: こたつ (kotatsu) + かたつむり (katatsumuri, snail). @Pyeknu, I looked up various words for "blackmail" in my EJJE dictionary of choice, and couldn't find any equivalent words that seem to make a pun with kotatsu. The closest possible word I could find is ゆすり (yusuri), and that seems far less likely than the pun with katatsumuri. Could you explain how you determined the pun is based on "blackmail", please?

It was a guess on my part driven by what Sazanami did with the kotatsu. She wanted her sisters to get her something to drink. They refused and she took the kotatsu away. Hence, blackmail.

Honestly, I always get the MA and MU katakana mixed up.

FYI, the "snail" pun comes from how people like Sazanami look when they've just got their heads and shoulders poking out from under the kotatsu. It's an established meme/pun. (I tried making the preceding text a link to the note search results for "kotatsnail" (/notes?search[body_matches]=kotatsnail), but the internal square brackets of the link precluded it working properly in dtext.)
