I'm surprised Zima was actually able to land a punch.

Stopping bullying is admirable, but not when it crosses over into bullying the bully.

Some stuff worth mentioning, Istina is loyal to Zima, Zima is losing 5 LMD to red. Zima survived the first hit which is impressive

    I also bet on Zima

Hmmm. Red being trained from childhood as a soldier an is a specialist by Kal t'sit's side.
Zima, on the other hand, is a student that was forced to live through a survival situation after being locked up in a school that didn't have enough food.

More interesting is that both are 5 stars despite this level of difference in training and experience.

Still, 50 LMD on Zima for landing that face punch.

I like the Doc's approach. Seriously, let 'em have it - it'll be beneficial in the future. Zima through pain may know, that Red is a hazardous bullying target and Red can finally grow guts to raise a fist instead of run away crying.

Next episode: *cough*Skadi something *cough* sword.

I think resorting to cannibalism and having to kill other kids and burning the older students to death by accident leaves Zima in quite enough pain. The nightmares she has clearly showed that. Not to mention our little gummy bear who's left in the dark for too long will relapse into that mind-set and remember that it was her who killed most if not all the students they ate.

If this was a Shounen manga, Red and Zima would be best buds after this. Perhaps at one point of this fisticuffs, Red will pick Skadi's sword. Hell, maybe even Amiya will pick it up, shows proficiency with the sword, and be the progenitor of Guard Amiya!

    Also, 500 LMD on Red!

Bruh I wish to know where do you get that Gummy lore, so far I knew she prepared the food from fellow ursus students

From the Ursus Student event. It's not outright stated, but strongly implied that in a school with no food, Zima's group was forced to cannibalize the other students to survive. Gummy being the only member of the group that can cook, would then have to be the one to prepare the "meals."

This is strengthened by Gummy's numerous forms of PTSD. When she gets hungry she becomes almost feral, blanking out and eating anything she can find, even biting other people if they happen to be nearby. She can't sleep in the dark because it sends her into an inconsolable panic. When she fights or cooks, she always holds herself back from doing a third swing, because when she does she uses all of her strength and destroys anything in her way.

The last one is referencing how butchers prepare meat by swinging the butcher's knife three times to cleave the bone. What meat could Gummy have been cleaving like a butcher in a school with both food stores burned to the ground...

This is one of the main things I find frustrating about a lot of Arknights lore, there's a lot of implied things. So much of the lore isn't stated in a clear way, or a way that actually confirms anything. The game heavily leaves it up to the fans to read between the lines and clarify a bunch of the lore themselves. Even when we get a lore event like the Urus Students one, you know right away that they're going to use it to further hint and imply things instead of using it to clarify and explain the lore.

A lot of that is due to self-censorship to avoid backlash from CN nationalists and the government. Personally, I like it. It encourages fan participation and use of imagination. Reminds me of Touhou.

What's wrong with that? In some ways it's more interesting not to have everything spelled out for you. It's not like it's really ambiguous in this case. What else could Gummy's multiple PTSD habits possibly point to?

And that's fine if the two of you like it. I personally like clear consistent writing that fleshes out the world and characters in a straight forward and precise way. To you it feels like it's encouraging fan participation, to me relying on fan interpretation often feels lazy, and as Myrmidon said it's also likely censorship/self-censorship. I really enjoy Arknights and I believe there's a ton of potential with the writing (characters/world/story), but I also think it often doesn't reach that potential. It's fine if we don't agree here, I'm going to keep enjoying Arknights even if I personally don't enjoy the writing style, and I'm glad the two of you enjoy it as is. I don't think anybody is wrong here, we just have different perspectives and opinions.

Agree, straighforward information is better since the community can go stray way too far from the original idea if you let them go loose too much.

Children for urusus implies a lot of obvious atrocious things yet the devs avoid it as a plague so why did Yostar places Children of ursus on first place, my guess I wont fit in a world of cute girls, even Girlfrontline have to soft some warcrime situations.

Why are you asking about Yostar, they're just the publisher, they didn't write it.

Also AK isn't "a world of cute girls". While the minority, there are still plenty of dudes, and the story has never pretended it wasn't going to be some degree of dark. Half of the cast is terminally ill, after all.

If you ask me, exactly what happened to the Ursus students isn't stated explicitly because those girls are the only ones who know what happened, and they won't tell anyone. It's supposed to be a secret, even from the player. The best you can do is guess.

The problem is not keeping secrets from the player. The problem is, if an event is set up like will give the player information they want, only to provide more questions, no answers, and only a hook to the next event, then it gives the players the impression that the writers aren't planning the story ahead, and are just making it up as they go along.
