Everyone who has communicated with him says that he has not been in touch since the beginning of February. There is a possibility that a tragedy happened to him.

I hope not, I pray that ain't the case but looking at things... I fear that possibility may be true.

Was hoping to jump in here and see if there was any sort of update from Hater. Fingers crossed.

The project manager of the visual novel "Touhou: Mysteries of Eastern Creatures", in the creation of which Hatater actively participated, made a post on the occasion of the anniversary of him disappearance.

There is no new information in the post itself. The usual tribute to a person. The author of the post made a repost to other his group, where haters came running in the comments. Crazy twitter activists exist not only on Twitter.

According to the post hater got hospitalized with covid and seeing how he's been MIA for this long I don't think he made it out.

According to my (admittedly limited) knowledge, the above illustration was posted after he had gotten out of the hospital. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

My guess is that what initially silenced him was a combination of postponed responsibilities, exhaustion from "long Covid", and general depression. That would easily explain him staying silent for 5–10 months.

But what has happened between that period and today?

He contracted Covid in June 2020 and was safely discharged from the hospital two weeks later. The disease did not prevent him from drawing right in the hospital.

The last time I spoke to him was in January 2021, he didn't seem depressed. His last posts on the network date back to the beginning of February, where he again complained about his health. Perhaps he caught the second Covid, which finished him off. Or maybe something else happened. But he didn't go missing because of depression.

Last time I heard of him was in January 2021 as well and he never messaged back sense. I pray and hope for him and if true (honestly I feel it is...) Offer my condolences

While COVID is still an issue, an even bigger problem is the current situation in Ukraine. Hopefully, Hater didn't get conscripted or managed to get out of Russia before then.
