It's possible. But the chance is (in theory) so low, you might say it's zero. But modern MBT have just as much armor on the back as a WWII medium. A good hit with APHE (or similar) should disable the Hitomaru.

But that's not sensha-do! The typical fighting distance in a sensha-do-match is 10 to 50 meters! If the Panzer IV hides in a garage and fires at the back from spitting distance, the Type 10 is toast!

Sensha-do only allows tanks that were designed no later than 15 August 1945, so if they are using a Type 10, it isn't Sensha-do anyway! XD

It's a possibility, but the only time I've seen any direct reference to professional teams' hardware is in "der Film" when they are looking at that news article that shows the University team having defeated some corporate team, and the corporate team's tanks are IS-2s or related variants.
